Josh is a 42-year-old musician and mental health therapist who seamlessly blends his love for music with his passion for helping others. A gifted guitarist and singer, Josh has spent years honing his craft, performing and writing music that resonates deeply with listeners. Music is not just a career for him; it's a vital part of his identity and a tool for personal expression.
In his therapeutic practice, Josh uses his musical talents to support clients in navigating emotional struggles, creating a unique space where sound, song, and self-expression intersect. Whether through songwriting, music therapy, or simply sharing his performances, Josh believes in the power of music to heal, transform, and connect.
Britt Hartley is an Atheist Spiritual Director, podcaster, and the author of No Nonsense Spirituality. She has an MA in Theology with a focus on the future of American religion. She lives in Boise, Idaho, with her four children.
Sam grew up in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), a polygamous group led by their prophet, Warren Jeffs. He left the community at 18 years old. After leaving the FLDS faith, he was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) and served a mission in Chile.
Melissa was raised in the LDS church in Utah. She and Sam were married in the St. George LDS temple in 2014 and have two beautiful children.
Together, years into their marriage, they began a spiritual journey that led them out of the LDS church. After experiencing the pain and turmoil of a faith transisiton, they strive to let others know they are not alone. They now share a deeper belief in the power of every person's individual spiritual experience.
In 2020, they started a YouTube Channel called Growing Up in Polygamy to share the story of Sam's upbringing. They are honored to help empower those, particularly with polygamous backgrounds, to share their journey with the world.
Nemo the Mormon is the host of the YouTube podcast Nemo the Mormon and is the United Kingdom's leading commentator on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) with content focused primarily on the statements and remarks of current LDS church leaders, and on determining the truthfulness of those statements.
His work also involves speaking powerfully and publicly with outlets like the BBC and LADbible as a commentator on Mormonism, with refreshing frankness and honesty. There is only so long those who claim to speak for God will allow themselves to be publicly challenged by one of their own flock. On September 30, 2024, Nemo was excommunicated for apostatsy. He's not angry, he's just disappointed.
Amy is a writer, teacher, and feminist historian. She holds a BA in English from Brigham Young University, an MLA from Stanford University and is currently a PhD student in Education, Culture and Society at the University of Utah. Her 2016 essay, Dear Mormon Man, Tell Me What You Would Do has become a classic in the Mormon feminist canon, and her podcast and YouTube channel, Breaking Down Patriarchy reaches thousands every week. She loves trail running, travel, and spending time with her husband and four kids.
Natasha Helfer is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, speaker, writer, podcaster, and supervisor with 20 years of experience treating individuals, couples, and family systems. She holds a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University, and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University. Natasha is the founder of Symmetry Counseling, a mental health support center located in Holladay, Utah.
Natasha is deeply committed to helping clients navigate challenges related to interpersonal relationships, sexual development, and spiritual or faith journeys. She specializes in supporting individuals seeking to engage with their religious cultures in healthy ways, whether they choose to remain in their faith communities or leave altogether. Natasha frequently presents at national conferences, universities, and public events, and organizes retreats, training sessions, and workshops. As an advocate for sexual health in marginalized populations—including LGBTQ+, religious minorities, and women—she works to de-stigmatize diverse sexual lifestyles shaped by cultural, personal, and religious biases.

Barbara is the director of Signature Books. She holds an MA in American History from the University of Utah and a BA in Journalism and English from Brigham Young University. Previously she was the Executive Director of the Mormon History Association and the Historical Director of Better Days 2020.
Barbara has researched, written about, and spoken about, the Mountain Meadows Massacre since 2005. Her co-authored book on the subject, Vengeance is Mine: The Mountain Meadows Massacre and its Aftermath is the recipient of the Utah Historical Society's Juanita Brooks Best Book in Utah Award, and the Westerners International Best Book Award. She also received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Utah Historical Society in 2012 for her efforts in achieving National Historic Landmark Status for the Mountain Meadows site. Several years after becoming involved in researching the massacre, she discovered she is a direct descendant of one of its perpetrators.
Dr. John Dehlin is a podcaster, non-profit CEO, activist, public speaker, and religious transitions coach. He is an expert in understanding and supporting people experiencing religious faith crisis and transitions. John has a BA in Political Science, an MS in Instructional Technology, and a PhD in Clinical and Counseling Psychology.
John's research has been published in numerous peer reviewed scientific journals. As a pocaster, John is the founder of Mormon Stories podcast, the most popular and longest running podcast within Mormonism. He is also the co-host of The Gift of the Mormon Faith Crisis podcast which is dedicated to supporting Mormons who are transitiong away from either Mormon orthodoxy, or Mormonism altogether. In addition, John has a private coaching practice that focuses on religion and mental health. John's wife Margi Dehlin is also a life transitions coach.
Mountain Meadows Tour Guide
Sharla is the Director of the Juanita Brooks Historical Preservation Society. Sharla grew up in St. George, Utah, where she could see the Dixie Sugarloaf from her bedroom window. She was tutored in all matters of family and history by her father, Karl Brooks, a former mayor of St. George. All of this, while living with or next door to her grandmother, Juanita Brooks. Sharla's grandmother, Juanita, was an American historian and author specializing in the American West and Mormon history. Her most notable literary contribution was her book related to the The Mountain Meadows Massacre.
Sharla graduated from Dixie High, Dixie College, and then Southern Utah State College (SUSC) in English and Spanish Education, where she taught English as an adjunct professor. She is married to Paul Moody and they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Sharla is passionate about learning, walking long distances, and her faith. In addition to traveling to spend time with family, she loves old music, old people, and old stories, and regularly spends time with all three. She has family history in her heart and red dirt between her toes and hopes to pass both of these attributes on to her children and grandchildren.
Linda cherishes her life with Wayne and their children and grandchildren. She enjoys reading, concerts and culture, college classes, jewelry-making, and many mind, body, and spirit enhancement studies.
Wayne grew up on a farm in Rupert, Idaho. Besides farming himself, Wayne owned and operated a very successful grain elevator business called Mart Grain Company, which became the largest grain elevator business in Idaho until it was sold. In 1986 Wayne moved to St. George and opened-up the first Edward Jones stock brokerage office. In 1994 Wayne left Edward Jones and opened-up the Merrill Lynch stock brokerage office and remained there as a financial advisor and manager until retirement in 2018. Currently Wayne is on the board of Switchpoint. He also owns several rental properties and enjoys his participation in the Post-Mormon Community.
Adam and Sidra have lived in St. George for 13 years and both love hiking around the parks and trails of Southern Utah. Adam grew up in Provo, Utah, and Sidra grew up in Yuma, Arizona. They have two dogs that also love hiking.
Adam builds casitas and tiny homes and Sidra works in medical coding and billing. They both removed their names from church records after the November 2015, church policy change.
Lisa is a personal development coach and psychotherapist focused on helping clients move into the most expansive and free version of themselves. She has over 30 years of experience in mental health and wellness. She was an active member of the LDS faith until 2021 and is a single mom to four adult children and three grandchildren. Lisa enjoys all of the great outdoor activities of Southern Utah. She also loves to study ancient wisdom and esotericism. Lisa is currently running a fundraiser for her friend who has exited from the FLDS church.
